During my previous studying years, alongside my Art and Design work I have also created a library of video editing work, with some professional styles as well as funnier 'meme' style formats, which ordinarily appeal to younger generations on my main platform of YouTube. While strictly unprofessional work can be seen as not useful, I see this differently; Edits such as some below show merits of basic and some more complex editing skills, such as music timing and manual tracking for complex objects, which have been refined in a fun video style, to be projected into more professional work.
Check out some of my videos below and explanations why they are edited in each style.
During my time with London Legion we began a big project with UK Veterans gaming, a charity organisation which brings together former and currently serving military members. This charity allows them meet and re-meet each other, playing games on a casual and competitive basis while also assisting each other with stories and events of their time serving.
We were asked to create an introduction video for them as the organisation went for further outreach, highlighting key members as well as their gameplay with our university students. My role in this was partaking in gaming sessions with the members and edit the overall vide that was taken. This involved making the major cuts and fine tuning to their exact standards and became one of the proudest moments of my editing career.
In June 2024 myself and a team of 15 other jouryned to Liverpool to join a production of the Path to Pro, put together by Tranmere Rovers football team. This involved taking all the equipment with us, setting up, completing the competition and finally tearing down and returning the London in the span of two days.
Over the course of 48 hours I acted as a videographer and social media manager for all the events, working directly with the Rovers to create the event that each party hoped for after weeks of livestreamed matches.
After the events I began compiling all the footage taken, utilising clips, video and photoshoots to my advantage and creating an aftermovie, which was well revered by both the Rovers and my of team members.
Following my aftermovie I also filmed and edited this Interview with Professional football player Jayden Danns and his father. Interviewing them was my University lecturer at the time Stuart Kosters, creating a complling interview and following the story telling of Danns' career.
This video edit was simplistic in nature, being very highly usable from the raw footage with only additonal closed captions for the interview itself.
One of the most recent projects I have completed is the This is London Legion video. This entailed compiling game clips as well as interactive community elements for the video. The overall point of this this was to create an introduction for a wider audience to the community community that we have within the organisation
I am no stranger to also creating short form content for platforms like TikTok Instagram and YouTube shorts, thoroughly enjoying my time making them. Cereating long form content allows countless possibilities for short form moments in this style and is something I am very passionate about promoting.
While at I72, myself and competitive manager Louis found the time for a brief interview in the LAN hall after he had finished competitng in tournaments for the weekend. After setting up the shot, mics and overall background, I also then editing this aswell, using the best audio balancing possible with the background noise surrounding the interview space, also including closed captions throughout the video.
I was contracted to perform videography and editing for workables in London, promoting a newly renovated office building in central London. This was a different project from what I would normally undertake, creating new views and object ideas from this work. I worked directly with the CEO of the company, using direct reworks for a commision price.
Over the final and first months of 2022 and 2023 I was working with London Legion to Edit and put together their TV broadcasts. These have been an incredible new opportunity and challenge for me, and I have really enjoyed working on them. Most recently we as a team have produced a live broadcast for our Overwatch team, with edited video segments produced by me within this mix.
While these episodes were promoted as live bradcasts this was not the case, being fully edited previews sectioned together and previewed as livestreams for the initial launch of the esports company. I was responsible for this editing and refining all of the pre recorded segments into a live streaming style, making sure each element flowed together.
After a brief rebranding project for the video elements of Legion, I began work on the editing of podcasts for the later eras of Legion. Coming into my third year at university, I helped alongside other editors in training up other students in editing principles, and the simplicity of podcast editing.
On the left is one such exmaple (being one of my favourite episodes) and further will follow this section!

Above was a recently created 'meme' style of video. The purpose of this feature was for my own personal friend group, but allowed me to directly refine video editing skills after a prolonged break from the activity. Within this video I believe I created a well paced and timed compilation of enjoyable clips, with an added flair of funny.
This video was created as one of the final projects of my time with Exe Academy and is also where I applied my techniques into a professional style of video. The overall video style I names the the 'Tom Scott' style, after a popular documentary style content creator. This involves lots of lagged audio cuts, as well as a heavily researched style in which he makes his videos. He often prefaces the videos with a larger question, which is either solved or explained within the 5 minutes of the timeline.
